Podere Il Pino

Monteriggioni is a little village, a few kilometers away from Podere il Pino. It is a characteristic fortified village surrounded by circular walls. It is situated in the province of Siena and inhabited by 42 people only. The origins of its wonderful castle date back to the Thirthteenth century: its purpose was to keep the Florentines outside, during wars and battles. The towers rise above the walls and only eleven of them are visible nowadays. In 2005 restructure works made it possible, to walk again through the street from which there's a unique view, worthy to be admired.
